Joy on Fire - Another Adventure in Red

What better way to emerge from our pandemic hibernation than with an amazing new release from Joy on Fire! Another Adventure in Red is available everywhere today. Pick your poison at https://geni.us/JoyonFireAAiR

Another Adventure in Red was recorded over many years in three states.  It is also the album that includes the most collaborators on a Joy on Fire record thus far, and the band is very excited about all these friends helping JoF to expand the JoF sound. Procrastination Records founder Tommy Hambleton, plays lapsteel on the eponymous track and remix "Adventure in Green". Labelmates Joe Martin and Robin Eckman of 3rd Grade Friends appear on "3rd Grade Fire". Brian Lampkin, North Carolina poet and owner of Scuppernong Books and Scuppernong Editions press of Greensboro provides lyrics for the two vocal songs on the album: “After" and “Night Sticks”. Amazing NYC-by-way-of-NC vocalist Natalie Havens performs a powerful version of “Night Sticks,” the majority of the tune which was recorded and then remixed five years later by Mat Leffler-Schulman of Mobtown Studios. Joy on Fire’s wonderful saxophonist, Anna Meadors—who also engineered the majority of Another Adventure—sings Brian’s words on her composition, originally commissioned by NYC’s Rhymes With Opera, “After.” “After” also features the sparkling dulcimer playing of David Degge, and the drumming of Mark Eichenberger, whose inventive beat really ties the song together.
